Kathmandu: The Transitional Justice-related TRC bill has been passed by the House of Representatives. The bill, titled "Bill to Amend the Commission on Investigation of Disappeared Persons, Truth and Reconciliation Act, 2071," was presented by Minister for Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs, Ajay Kumar Chaurasiya.

According to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, the government's goal is to transform this bill into law within the next ten days. After being passed by the House of Representatives, the bill will move to the National Assembly. Once passed by the National Assembly, it will return to the House of Representatives and, after being certified by the Speaker, will be sent to the President for authentication. The bill will become law after being authenticated by the President.

The government registered this bill in the House of Representatives on 25th Falgun 2079. Before the Law, Justice, and Human Rights Committee of the House of Representatives passed the bill, the top leaders of the three major political parties—Congress, UML, and Maoist—reached an agreement on the contentious issues.
