Kathmandu, Nov 14: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said constitution needs review and evaluation in a decade of its enforcement. The review however should not compromise democratic system, republic and federalism, PM Oli said during a discussion in the concluding session of the Kantipur Conclave 2024 today. PM Oli informed that present coalition was formed for stability, good governance and development. The major parties Nepali Congress and UML which had waged struggle together for democracy made the ruling coalition as there was no majority of any political party, he made it clear. Oli further said he would hand over the government leadership to NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba after 20 months. In a response to a question relating to the arrest of RSP President Rabi Lamichhane, the PM said Lamichhane was arrested based on the report of the parliamentary probe commission on cooperatives fund embezzlements. It is the court to decide whether he is clean or not. "I do not involve in corruption and do not allow others for it either. I don't take favour while taking action against the wrongdoers," he vowed, adding, "We also faced tough times like incarceration for democracy. The upstarts in the name of new generation do not deserve criticizing in a baseless manner." Moreover, PM Oli said it was wrong to try to exert influence on judiciary.
