China Provides NPR 300 Million in Relief Assistance to Nepal

Kathmandu: The Chinese government has provided NPR 300 million (Rs 30 crore) to Nepal for relief and rescue efforts for flood-affected people in Rasuwa.

Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Zhang Maoming handed over the cheque to Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle on Sunday for the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund.

Similarly, the Red Cross Society of China has provided an additional USD 200,000 (approximately NPR 30.6 million) in cash assistance. China has also sent 50 tonnes of relief materials, including tents, blankets, sleeping bags and medical kits, to Nepal.

China has further stated that it is sending specialized personnel and helicopters to assist in the rescue of people trapped inside the tunnel. It is also preparing to send additional rescue equipment and large-capacity drones to support the rescue operation. The assistance is expected to strengthen Nepal’s ongoing rescue and relief efforts in the flood-affected areas.
