India Unaware of Balen’s ‘Special Envoy’ Delhi Visit
Kathmandu: The Indian Ministry of External Affairs has stated that it has no information regarding the visit of Prime Minister Walendra Shah (Balen)’s special envoy to India.
Responding to a question raised by journalists during the regular press briefing of the Indian Ministry of External Affairs on Tuesday, spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that he was not aware of any visit to India by the special envoy.
Earlier, reports had emerged that Kumar Ben, Prime Minister Balen’s chief political adviser, had visited New Delhi and held a meeting with India’s National Security Adviser Ajit Doval in the first week of July.
Jaiswal made the remarks after journalists questioned him about the same issue. A journalist had asked about the recent visit of a Nepali official to India, stating that the visit was related to Prime Minister Balen’s potential India visit.
Responding to the question, Jaiswal said, “I am not aware of the first question. The invitation for Nepal’s Prime Minister’s visit has already been sent.”
Meanwhile, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs has confirmed that an invitation has been extended to Nepal’s Prime Minister for a visit to India. Spokesperson Jaiswal said, “Yes, an invitation has been sent to Nepal’s Prime Minister for a visit to India.”
